I visited Chiang Mai, a beautiful city in Thailand in August 2019 and as usual, it was a boring business trip, and a trip which was expected to be over in 2 days, took more time as I landed in during public holiday, so what did I plan to do, is to walk around the city on foot to explore with my best friend My Canon DSLR and My lifeline Apple iPhone.
While taking a stroll exploring in and around the city, I came across the most handsome hunk known as the “CHEVROLET 3100 Pickup Truck or best known as Chevy Truck” who was silently parked inside a building parking lot, and I couldn’t get me eyes of it, but as it was inside a security protected zone, I preferred to let it be and walked away but my brain and heart still calling out to have a closer look of the handsome hunk. I kept on thinking a way to request the security guard to allow me to click a few pictures with the Chevrolet.
The next day I came back to the building spot where the Chevy was parked hoping it is still there. Seeing it there I decided to request the security guard to give me permission to see the truck from closeby and click a few pictures with it. To my Horror he did not know or understand English, so I decided to try speaking in sign language, I showed him my Canon DSLR, and showed him few pictures on my Apple iPhone and made him understand that I want to click pictures with the “Chevrolet 3100 Pickup Truck”. He smiled and said ok with his hand signs and let me walk past the security gate. I couldn’t be happier about being next to this beauty.
So let me introduce you to this Hunk – Its the CHEVROLET PICKUP TRUCK 3100 series which was manufactured in 1951, with this one getting registered in Thailand.
Chevrolet 3100 Pickup 1951 is a 5-window upgraded to 12 volt California import. This is a nice, good running and driving Chevy 3100 pickup from 1951.
This Chevrolet came into the Advance Design series of Chevrolet. The first truck was rolled out from its factory on June 28th, 1947 and the one I saw rolled out in March 1951.
This was a two-door configured truck that even had an automatic transmission making it very easy to drive.
This provided as the design legacy inspiration for the later Chevrolets SSR and HHR trucks.
With that little knowledge for the Chevy 3100, I think one has to just enjoy the pictures of this handsome truck.
Who said automobiles can’t talk, I could just converse with it for hours while clicking pictures and the truck itself telling me where to stand a click a good picture to make my favorite “TRAVELPOSTCARDS”.
This truck has a history for years and now I have added myself to its History by picturing it with me and creating a memory in my mind and a “Travelpostcards” for generations to see.
So it always sums up to one thing is that travel, whether for business or for leisure and who knows what will you come across which will make you happy, your soul happy.
If you in Chiang Mai, Thailand don’t forget to spot this beauty and click yourself with it.
